Harvey Jang is Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer responsible for Cisco’s global privacy strategy, vision, and mission – compliance, market access, and differentiation. He leads a global team of privacy professionals, lawyers, and engineers in developing and operationalizing Cisco’s privacy policies and standards, privacy by design, and accountability frameworks and certifications. Harvey and team represent Cisco with regulators, standards bodies, non-governmental organizations, media, and customers on issues related to privacy, information governance, and data ethics.
Harvey also serves on the Research Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), is an instructor for the IAPP’s privacy credentials (CIPP/US, CIPP/Europe, and CIP/Technologist), and is on the Advisory Council of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL).
Harvey earned his B.A.s in Social Psychology and Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and Fellow of Information Privacy by IAPP, and Certified Information Security Manager and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
